Hey guys, so the other day a fellow user asked me what would be the easiest way to switch between themes while working or on a hurry. While I think many of you already know this I still decided to share it in case new guys on the block need some help.
For those that don't know what this does:
Using batch file you can create a simple windows program that can be run just like any .exe file to change system settings, move and modify files and more. This one simply changes Windows theme to Aero, but unless something big changed in Windows 8 and further in system resources then this should also work with default 8 themes if you change location and name.
This file simply changes your current theme to default windows classic. If it can't apply it, it will try to apply aero theme instead. Change the location to your custom themes with text editor and that's it. As far as I can tell you don't need to run it as admin but doing it won't hurt either. I am also working on a batch file that will change theme depending on certain task running in the background so if I get it to work I will share that as well. I would also like to test if I can manage to change 3DCC color schemes with this method later on. If anyone on Windows 8/10 can test this one to see if it works it would be great!
Added files mentioned above.
Open batch files with text editor before running them to edit paths and timeouts (the countdown before another statement is executed, edit this if it begins before windows applies the change in personalization window so it won't try to exit the dialog). Files that change Windows Classic theme need you to hit apply button when 3DCC opens, the software will shutdown with the timer though.
